Happy Halloween! The dividend income this month was $550.41. That is roughly the same as October 2013. Last year included a dividend payment from NLY but i wasn’t too enamoured with the stock and therefore exited.
I am now around $7500 for the year in dividend income and very close to the target i had set myself. This should be leapt over in November as there is a convergence of several quarterly dividend payers. Looking forward to that.
As for the rest of the market, quite the whipsaw from oversold and now almost breaking new records going into the end of the year. The market is statistically bullish going from November to March. I’m expecting churn before we push higher as we’ve had such a huge move from that oversold position.
Looking forward to seeing how AIG plays out on Monday – i have a bunch of stock and very long term options on this, i believe the stock will clear $56 soon and ride to $60-62 before settling for the next leg.
ARCP shook the foundations this week with the news of an accounting error, a lot of people are trying to take the stock down, i don’t blame them, the management hasn’t exactly been stellar over the last year or two. That said, it is a tangible stock in the sense they have tons of properties they lease out and i believe in the long term story still. Accumulating on any weakness.
Oil in general is crushing the energy sector, another situation where i think this will change over time again. Buying where i can and tucking them away, Chevron, BP etc all good in my eyes.
Finally, playing a bunch of things in Brazil, i think several stocks there like PBR will be the belle of the ball at some point in the future, maybe a year, maybe 5, i don’t know but i love the risk reward. There are some huge stocks that have been absolutely crushed due to the elections – i believe this offers a compelling opportunity if you believe the incumbent will be a more investor friendly in her second term and that the global growth story will come back with a vengeance.
In the meantime, if you like trading futures like i do then here is another fun documentary to watch. Sadly there are only 2 out the 3 parts available.
Have a great weekend!
